Eggenreich Otto
Born on 19.11.1932 in Kapfenberg. Son of an electrician at the Böhler steel company, attended primary and lower secondary school, worked as a commercial clerk in the Hollerith department; met Hannelore Valencak, Herbert Zinkl and Willi Kandlbauer; began writing poetry and short prose in the early 1950s; from 1956 in Gratkorn, where he worked as an IT operator at the Leykam company, later as a programmer, then as a materials planner in purchasing; Member of the Styrian Writers' Association since 1954, 1977 to 1982 as executive vice president and then president until October 1990; co-founder of "Lichtungen" with Gerda Klimek, Herbert Zinkl and Horst Gerhard Haberl in 1980, moved to Graz in 1976, then to Fernitz near Graz in 1979.
Awards include: Promotion Prize for Literature of the City of Graz (1979).
Publications include: Von Wort zu Wort (1969), Schonzeit (ed. E. Breisach, 1981), Lyrik in der Steiermark (ed. and co-author, 1998).
