Faschinger Lilian (Horny Collection)
Born on 29.4.1950 in Tschöran (Carinthia). First of three children of ÖBB employee Arthur Mitterer and his wife Maria, 1961-68 attended secondary school in Klagenfurt, after graduating from high school she attended high school in Stanford, Conn., USA. 1969-75 studied English and history at the University of Graz with a study visit to Oxford, from 1975 assistant and lecturer at the Institute for English Studies at the University of Graz, 1979 doctorate in English literature ('Studies on the Book of Margery Kempe'). First texts and translations in the early 1980s, 1985 participation in the Bachmann Competition (Ernst Willner Scholarship), freelance writer and literary translator since 1992, numerous trips, scholarships abroad and visiting professorships (USA), 2008 Friedrich Glauser Prize
