Hammer Ernst
Born on 24.3.1924 in Stanz im Mürztal (Styria), died on 20.4.1990 in Graz. Poet and storyteller; active in literature from the late 1940s to the late 1980s; published in various anthologies and literary journals, including "Wort in der Zeit", his first publication was in the tradition of Peter Rosegger(Wanns dumpa wird, 1952); Ministry of Education award for the radio play Spur im Sand (1954), annual scholarship from the Bertelsmann publishing house (1956); friend of Gerhard Fritsch, who established contact with the Otto Müller publishing house; member of the "Steirischer Schriftstellerbund", published in "Lichtungen"; novels: Staub unter der Sonne (1960), Ramint (1965); short stories: Petelka kommt heim (1952), Regen am Nachmittag (1962) and Ein Augenblick der Schwäche (1977).
