Kappel Cäcilia
Born on 21.5.1920 in Pöls (Styria), died 27.2.2002, Graz or Preding. From 1937 attended the missionary school in Tutzing am Sternbergsee (Bavaria); closed the school in 1939, in 1941 enrolled in the social women's school of the German Caritas Association in Freiburg i. Breisgau; trained as a qualified nursery nurse. Volkspflegerin; from 1943 worked at the youth welfare office of Graz Municipality, from 1946 at Caritas Innsbruck, 1948 again at Caritas Graz, founded a pre-school for family and work (school for social services) in Graz, Rottenmann, Fürstenfeld, Weiz; from 1960 entrusted with the training of family helpers, 1963 worked at the technical school, which was granted public status in 1965; 1975 founded the technical school for geriatric services, retired from 1983.
Awards include: Josef-Krainer Social Prize (1979), Treuering of the Diocese of Graz-Seckau (1981), Elisabeth Medal (1983), Grand Decoration of Honor of the Province of Styria (1984).
