Scheucher Franz (Klug Collection)
Born on 12.4.1883 in Leoben (Styria), died on 12.10.1958 in Graz. Elementary and commercial school, 1903 first literary works, 1904 to 1907 military service with Infantry Regiment 27 in Graz, moved to Graz, 1909 to 1914 courtroom reporter for the "Grazer Tagblatt", 1908 founded and until 1914 published the magazine "Der Null-Anerl", later "'s Nullerl. Monatsschrift zur Pflege steirischen Humors", 1914 to 1916 on the Galician front, then unfit for military service after a typhoid infection, in January 1919 founded the weekly "Der Republikaner" (inspired by Karl Kraus' "Fackel") and at the same time the anarchist-oriented party "Freie Republikaner", from 1923 active in the nudist movement, in summer 1925 founded the association "Gesunde Menschen"; Settlement in Andritz-Neustift, a recreational area on the Rannach), pioneer of the settlers' movement, from January 1932 editor of "Frosch", a satirical magazine (until June 1933, a total of 47 issues); retired to his small farm in Andritz near Graz, continued involvement in the naturist movement (Ps. "Sonnenmensch"), NSDAP member since 1940 (No. 8214371), lived in seclusion on Pfanghofweg in Graz-Andritz after 1945.
The collection was created by Michael Klug and donated to the Institute in 2009.
