Stibill Rudolf

Born on 30.7.1924 in Graz, died on 30.1.1995 in Ostenfeld near Rendsburg (Schleswig-Holstein). Writer and teacher; from 1930 elementary school in Graz, 1934 grammar school; 1942 Matura, then conscripted into the German army, from 1943 studied first medicine, then German language and literature and history at the University of Graz; 1945 first public reading, 1946 collaborated on the publication of the magazine "Austria"; participated in the St. Veiter Kulturtage (1950), Pürgger Dichterwochen (1953, 1954), published in anthologies including "Tür an Tür" (1951); from 1953 worked for the "Sendergruppe Alpenland" (later: ORF Landesstudio Steiermark), 1955 to 1988 teacher at the Freie Waldorfschule in Rendsburg.

Awards include: Peter Rosegger Prize (1953).

Poetry volumes including: Vox humana (1947), Die köstliche Flamme (1951), Der Knabe und das Meer (1958), Leute aus Sonnenstadt (1964), Markierungen des Lebens (1975), Stimmen des Ungewissen (1992), Atemwaage (1995).
