Workshop: Visual drama analysis
13.04.2016
In cooperation with the Center for Information Modeling at the University of Graz (ZIM) and FAS Research Vienna.
Recently, the representational models commonly referred to as "digital humanities" have also been applied to literary studies.
The call by postmodern theorists Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari to abandon the writing of texts in favour of drawing maps ("A Thousand Plateaus") finally seems to be coming to fruition in the visualization of drama networks and genre family trees. In the workshop, three research teams from Göttingen, Vienna and Graz presented different approaches and evaluations of the play "Stories from the Vienna Woods" by Ödön v. Horváth and discussed the respective results with regard to their methodological and analytical relevance.
Helmut Neundlinger, Ruth Pfosser, Christian Gulas, Mathias Göbel, Dario Kampkasper, Hans Clausen, Johannes Hubert Stigler and Martin Vejvar took part in the workshop.
