Strohmeier Fred
Fred Strohmeier (real name: Alfred Strohmaier), born on 13.6.1941 in Khünegg a.O. (Styria), died on 6.2.1999 ibid. Son of small farmers, after school he helped in his parents' farm, day laborer, first literary attempts at the age of 15, in 1962 he joined the editorial team of the weekly newspaper "Steirischer Bauernbündler" (since 1972 "NEUES LAND") - editor-in-chief since 1980, in 1972 he took over his parents' small farm, commutes between Graz and St. Peter a. Ottersbach, since 1974 he has been writing again after a long break.
Publications include: Frühfröste (1982), Flucht ins Gestern (1984), Distelblüten (1992), Neue G'schichten vom Land (1993), Das Friedensnest (1994), Zurück nach Eden. Von den Umwegen in die Welt von morgen (1997), Landluft macht frei - Bilder von gestern - Texte von heute (1997).
