Library of the Franz Nabl Institute for Literary Research
The library of the Franz Nabl Institute currently contains around 23,000 books. The collecting activity follows a specific focus. On the one hand, the holdings complement the German Studies Library and focuses on Styrian and Austrian literature (primary and secondary literature), but at the same time the Nabl Institute's library offers a fully-fledged workplace for German Studies students with the corresponding lexical, author-specific biographical and bibliographical reference works. Austrian literary journals, which are otherwise often difficult to find, form another important service. New publications by Styrian and many Austrian authors are available.
The library is a reference library where books can be read and/or copied on site. A large part of the collection can be borrowed, usually for 30 days. The majority of the collection is recorded in the University Library's online catalog. Titles that have not yet been cataloged (especially older works) are recorded by a local inventory reference at the Nabl Institute. The classification system largely follows that of the German Studies Library.
